Stakeholders

Because schools are crucial to Australia's future, everyone is a stakeholder in the Australian Schools Index. Schools provide the foundation for the intellectual, physical, social, moral and spiritual development of young Australians.

As all Australian schools are funded in some degree by government (i.e. the taxpayer), the community has a stake in ensuring all students have access to schools of the highest quality. Schools that provide students with a supportive and nurturing .environment contribute to the development of their self-esteem, love of learning and optimism for the future.

At the heart of ASI is the “school search” function with its unique ranking and rating system that can assist parent and carers with the selection of the right school for their children.

Parents, teachers, students and the wider school communities can also benefit from the vast repository of other information contained on the ASI website – everything from exam results to funding formulas.

Visitors to the ASI site can also easily and safely shop on-line for education-related products and services. Teachers and other school staff can seek new job opportunities.

In another Australian first for schools, ASI has developed a loyalty card scheme that rewards both parents and their children’s schools who purchase through participating retailers or service providers. Cardholders can also elect to give the rewards dollars to the schools or donate the money to a nominated charity.
